A toddler can feel cozier and more secure in a toddler bed than in a twin bed and that may make the transition easier for some toddlers.
To ease the transition put your toddler s new bed in the same place his crib used to be.
As with all things parenting please do what is best for your family.
Just like with other major baby or toddler milestones the transition from a crib to a toddler bed also comes in a range of ages.
You don t want your child to feel like he s being displaced.
While some toddlers are able to switch into a bed around 18.
Don t change the bedtime routine.
Toddlers at this age are routine oriented so when you re transitioning from a crib leave everything else the same.
This is what worked.
Keeping the bed in the same spot as the crib leaving the rest of the room the same and always ensuring the presence of stuffed animals will help ease your toddler into the transition.

Let your tot practice napping in it to feel more comfortable with the new digs.
But the longer a baby stays in his crib walsh adds the more emotionally attached he may become and the harder it may be to transition to a toddler bed.
If your toddler is giving up a crib for a new baby the switch calls for an extra dose of tlc.
