If you re fine with those options here s how i disassemble it.
Take apart ikea bunk bed.
1 point 2 years ago.
The joint is like a leg and rail except that the support piece is an extension of the leg.
Entirely loosen all of the screws holding the side rails and lower bunk onto the 2 side pieces.
The metal rails will need to be unbolted from the wood in order to take the ladder support off of the bed so keep that in mind.
To undo just turn them a half turn anti clockwise and they will disengage.
The bed will come apart in the same way as the lower bunk.
Before you separate the headboard and footboard from the extensions remove the side rails in the same manner as above.
If they are the ones i m thinking of when you turn them clockwise they engage with the head of a metal dowel in the other piece they are connecting with.
You could also try simply starting at the top and working downwards with smaller pieces.
Keep all your screws together in a plastic bag and don t lose the bag.
Put a piece of wood up against the slat and the bedside and hit it with a hammer.
Position the bed so that one of the short sides is flush against a wall.
Remove the top bunk and all but one of the top rails.
If you re on your own then one relatively foolproof way to take apart your ikea furniture is by following the instructions backwards.
Use a chisel to pry one leg of the headboard away from the extender.
I wiggle apart the two furniture pieces until it comes out a bit then push them back together and get a good grip with pliers to pull them out.
If you wish to completely dismantle the bed continue removing whatever screws and bolts you can find.
You should be able to slide the panels out of their notches once the bed legs are all removed.
Leave the screws in place.
